Why On Site

Built for Facilities That Cannot Depend on the Internet

Large grows run on cellular links, shared Wi-Fi and networks nobody is paid to maintain. GCU Manager sits on your LAN, next to the rooms it watches, so the dashboard, alerts and grow programs work whether or not the outside world is reachable.

  • ✓ Runs on a compact, solid-state appliance mounted at your site
  • ✓ Readings, photos and records stay on your premises
  • ✓ Nightly backups to removable media, plus an encrypted offsite copy
  • ✓ Remote support from us over an encrypted tunnel, only when you want it
  • ✓ Security patches applied automatically, with a page that shows what is pending
What Growers Get

One Screen for the Whole Farm

  • ✓ Fleet view: every room's CO2, temperature, humidity, leaf VPD and light with a plain-language status
  • ✓ Room pages with equipment state, config cards and history charts
  • ✓ Off / On / Auto control of every output, confirmed by the GCU
  • ✓ Setpoints, schedules and sensor rules edited in place
  • ✓ Empty-room sleep that quiets alerts and CO2 between crops
  • ✓ Built for phones in the grow room, not just desks in the office
Grow Management

From Clone to Harvest, Recorded

🌱 Grow Programs

  • Programs of up to twelve stages: days, light hours and level, day and night targets for temperature, humidity, CO2 and VPD
  • Start a room on a program from a date and it steps through on its own
  • Pause, resume, skip a stage or end early at any time
  • Stage-change emails to the people who need them

🧺 Harvests

  • A ledger of every crop in every room, from planting to harvest
  • Wet and dry weights, cultivar and notes
  • A report card for each harvest: how the environment tracked each stage's targets
  • Compare rooms and crops over time

📷 Crop Photos

  • Take a photo from your phone; it is filed by room, crop day and stage
  • A reminder when a photo is due
  • Photos follow the crop, so history stays with the harvest it belongs to
  • Optional AI read of each photo against the room's conditions

🔔 Alerts That Respect Your Inbox

  • One email when a problem starts, one when it clears
  • Offline rooms, silent sensors, out-of-range readings, equipment held on by a panel switch
  • A daily summary instead of a stream, if you prefer
  • Sensor health shown on every reading, so a dead probe is never mistaken for a good number

💧 Irrigation

  • Watering runs from your irrigation controller shown against each room
  • Missed or short waterings flagged alongside the climate data
  • Timed runs and an on-time guard on GCU-driven valves

🛠️ Fleet Operations

  • Firmware manager: see every room's version and update in batches
  • Onboarding of new rooms from the page
  • Users with Viewer, Operator and Admin roles, invites and an activity log
  • System page: storage, backups, OS updates and host health
AI Review

An Agronomist's Second Look, Every Night

Each night GCU Manager reviews every room: the readings, how hard each piece of equipment worked, which rules were in charge, what your team changed and the program's targets. Findings land on the Insights page with the evidence behind them, and a morning brief tells you what to look at first.

Grounded in your data

Every finding is checked against the numbers before you see it. If it cannot be backed up, it is not shown.

Suggests, never acts

The AI does not change settings, schedules or equipment. The GCU in the room keeps making every control decision.

Your verdict counts

Thumbs up or down on any insight. Your feedback tunes what the review raises next time.

Help assistant

Ask how a feature works or what a reading means, right from the page.

Photo analysis

Optional: each day's photo compared with earlier ones and with the room's conditions.

Private by design

Data sent for review is not used to train models. Switch the review off for your site at any time.

For Integrators

An API Your Other Software Can Read

Consultants, ERP systems and analytics partners can pull rooms, history, harvests, photos and watering records through a versioned, read-only API. Tokens are issued and revoked by your admin, rate-limited, and never give a third party control of a room.

REST / JSON Bearer tokens OpenAPI Postman collection Self-documenting
Under the Hood

Serious Software on a Small Box

  • ✓ Time-series database on solid-state storage, sized for years of readings
  • ✓ Containerised services that restart themselves
  • ✓ Restore drills, not just backups
  • ✓ Works with GCUs on wired or Wi-Fi networks and across site routers
  • ✓ Optional public address through our secure gateway for off-site viewing
Good to Know

Common Questions

What do I need on site?
A network the GCUs can reach, a shelf or rack spot and a power outlet. We ship the appliance configured, and a two-page field guide covers the install.
Can I still see it from home?
Yes. We can publish your Manager behind a secure gateway so your team signs in from anywhere, while the data itself stays at the facility.
How is it different from GCU Cloud?
Same GCUs, same grow programs and alerts. GCU Manager runs on your premises and is the right fit for large fleets, data-residency needs and poor connectivity. GCU Cloud is hosted by us and has nothing to install.
Who supports it?
We do. Updates, monitoring and help come from the people who built it, under a service agreement sized to your facility.
